- Schematic and board stay in step
- Edit the schematic and the change reaches board generation rather than stopping at the drawing. A schematic you cannot act on is documentation, not a design.
- Direct board editing
- Move parts, draw and cut traces, place vias, change layers and adjust the outline. Design rules are checked against what you change, when you change it.
- Two to sixteen copper layers
- Configurable stackup with per-layer dielectric constants, so impedance figures reflect the board being built rather than a default.
- 2D and 3D views
- Inspect copper layer by layer, or view the assembled board with component models to catch mechanical problems before ordering.
- Version history
- Boards are checkpointed at real editing boundaries, so an unwanted change can be reverted rather than rebuilt.
Against a desktop editor
KiCad and Altium are more capable editors, and for a complex production board with an experienced operator they remain the right tools. Both assume you have already learned them: KiCad is a desktop install with a genuine learning curve, and Altium is priced per seat per year.
This editor is for the case where you want a working board today and do not want to set up a toolchain first. Files export in standard formats, so nothing traps you here if the design later outgrows it.
Does it need an account?
Not to open the editor or to try a board. An account keeps your designs across devices and preserves version history. The nineteen calculation tools need no account at all.
